My journey with the Premium Ghostwriting Academy (PGA) may be somewhat atypical but I hope it inspires you to believe this one thing: that it’s never too late (or too early) to become what you have always dreamed you could be.

I turned 63 in 2023.

I left a great job - but a toxic workplace - in June of 2023. I was not interested in retiring although I could have.

I was looking for a pre-retirement plan. (And I may never retire now!)

My formal education is in marine engineering. In my career, I have worked in many different fields in shipbuilding, and curiously, the medical device industry. Shipbuilding is a very cyclic industry with many boom-and-bust cycles. It’s important to remain flexible in your skill set.

I live in Quebec, Canada where they speak French. I knew many years ago that it would be to my advantage to learn French, so I did. As it turns out, many companies needed English-speaking consulting and writing services, so I created a little sideline.

For over 25 years, I had a technical writing and translation business along with my full-time job and raising two children.

I was a full-time employee with a “side hustle” before it was even known as that.

So, in 2023, I quit without really a plan, and took the summer to figure it out. In July, I saw something online about “Ship 30 for 30.”

I thought it was for a group of maritime writers!

Imagine my surprise. (And my enthusiasm!)

I had signed up for Cole’s 5-day free EEC on how to become a ghostwriter. I devoured it in a few days and thought, “This is what I have been looking for.”

(Incidentally, did you know that technical writers and translators are the ultimate ghostwriters? Have you ever seen someone’s name on a user manual? No, I didn't think so.)

I then bought Cole’s book and read it while on vacation in August of 2023.

I signed up to obtain more information about PGA and had a call with Connor Widmeier. We went back and forth for weeks!

He patiently answered all my questions until one day he said, “What about I let you in the group for a few days to see what it’s all about?”

With that, I signed up.

I have never been happier with a program, the PGA community, and the opportunities.

Let me tell you a little more about why I think it may be the best program ever, hands down.

My motivation to join PGA

I wanted to join PGA to learn how to write, automate, and sell an educational email course (EEC).

I already knew I could make a living as a writer – because I already had been doing it for many years – but I wanted to do something different.

Something new, more interesting, more motivating.

I had absolutely no idea what niche or industry I wanted to go in…and that would be the case for several months, until one fateful day* I spoke with the amazing Katie Hardy on a niche clinic call. She told me to embrace the most “nichiest” of niches - the maritime industry - and that it would be a good thing.

I had resisted that decision for months.

Then, I met Andrew Madison. He helped me find a new angle in an industry that I had thought would never have anything new to offer me – SaaS.

The level of talent and experience of both these wonderful human beings blew me away. I am still in awe of both, along with Daniel Bustamante.

Now it has become MY PGA.

Then I started to meet other PGAers….and we became friends, motivators, collaborators, confidents, and friends.

Want to know how fond I am of PGA? I’m unofficially called the most famous PGA ‘cheerleader’ and I accept that moniker whole-heartedly.

My favorite parts of PGA

My favorite part is the mentorship – all the PGA mentors are wonderful and generous with their time and knowledge. I am constantly blown away by Cole – and over my 35+year career, I have met some amazing people. It’s pretty hard to beat him.

As fellow PGAer Abhimanyu Chauhan says, Nicolas Cole is the “Harvey Specter of ghostwriting.” As Harvey says, “Don’t play the odds, play the man.”

All of us believe 100% in Nicolas Cole. He’s our man.

The next thing I love is the community. I absolutely love meeting everyone, and in my own way, I help many members with their questions and their concerns.

I love telling them to just “work the plan,” and do the work. Just trust the process.

I can say with 100% confidence that this will work.

I have changed since being in PGA

As a writer in PGA – I am challenged by other writers, including Cole. I find that even after doing this for 25-plus years, I still have lots to learn.

As a businessperson – PGA has given me new tools and a structure that I previously did not have.

As a person – I have grown in ways I had not anticipated – I have more confidence. More empathy. It’s like I found a path.

Joining PGA

If you are interested in joining PGA but you have doubts, you should know that it has already produced several – if not multiple - 6-figure writers since it started in 2023.

However, I would add that it’s not an overnight success story for anyone. It takes time, so it would be best to have some financial freedom to concentrate on the curriculum in those early months. Think of it as a financial investment – your return on investment will come, but you should give it the time it requires to produce the dividends you’re seeking. No investment I have made has given me such a solid ROI as PGA and it will continue to do so for many years.

Because of PGA, I have had both small and large wins, both personal and professional.

A considerable win was calling myself a “Premium Ghostwriter” before I thought I was one. Cole made me believe that.

I have hit many milestones – getting my first client, then my second…. then absorbing the curriculum and then using it to my advantage to get more clients.

Being a solopreneur can be a lonely business. The PGA community and structure have allowed me to extend my service offering to new levels, while knowing I had “backup” in my corner.

I have never felt alone.

And I doubt I ever will.
